Mac games: Get your LEGO game demos here
Do you have an eight-year-old son? Then it behooves you to download one if not all of the game LEGO demos linked herein—really, he’ll love you for it.
I don’t know about your eight-year-old boy, but mine has energy. He’s able to transform a single hotdog into hours and hours of fun and play, which is a good thing if we’re talking about Tae Kwon Do and a bad thing if his giggles are derived from his sister’s torment.
That said, being a budget-minded geek dad with a need to fill in at least marginally educational way, I was really pleased to find Feral Interactive, a Mac only game publisher, and their demo downloads page, which has a devil’s dozen of titles both old and new:
• ToCA Multiplayer Demo Intel
• LEGO Batman Demo Intel
• Black and White 2 Demo Intel
• Colin McRae Rally Mac – Multiplayer Demo Universal
• ToCA DTM V8 Demo Intel
• ToCA Honda Civic Demo Intel
• LEGO Indiana Jones Demo Intel
• Tomb Raider Anniversary Demo Intel
• Colin McRae Rally Mac – Single Player Demo Universal
• LEGO Star Wars II Demo Universal
• The Movies Demo Universal
• Imperial Glory Demo Universal
• Ford Racing 2 Demo UniversalMore Mac gaming resources:
— MacGameFiles
— InsideMacGames
— Mac Gaming @ Apple.com
— Game Trailers @ Apple.com
— Blizzard Entertainment

Yeah, fewer than half are playable on PPC Macs, but the optimists among you will note that this means the glass is almost half full. Another positive certain to appeal to the alternative geek mums and dads out there is that most of these titles will download via BitTorrent, which is both fast (LEGO Batman came down at 400+ Kbps for me) and shares the load of distribution among the people on the receiving end — a circle of life thing you either get or don’t.
