Video: Ice-T destroys a dead PowerBook with a hammer
Over the course of a weekend I watched every episode of Law and Order: SVU and as TV actors go, Ice-T’s quite OK. Yes, he’s always himself and that’s pretty much what you’re going to see and hear, a little cursing, in this clip.
“If any of you people out there really have a love affair with Macs,” says the Law and Order: SVU actor, “this is gonna be hard to watch”—a notion he seems to relish.
That said, whoever the girl behind the camera filming the death of Ice-T’s aged PowerBook voices well the angst of watching a piece of technological art rendered to bits. She pipes with in regular ‘Oh, my gods’ as Ice-T monologues his way through the enclosure, the destruction of the hard drive and more.

For me, although there’s a twinge of extra pain because Ice-T ripped apart a PowerBook, it’s just kind of sad to see any computer wasted, even one at the end of its life. That is, if the words “reduce, reuse and recycle” have any meaning, then the celebrity’s laptop, whether it was a Dell or a Mac, sans hard drive should have been sold online or to a dealer for parts (i.e. someone who could have put those parts to good use)…
