Photo: If this is the Mac touch, I’ll take one…
In a world driven to spoof, fake and photoshoped images of the Apple’s long-rumored and lusted for Mac tablet, iPod touch on steroids or, as titled, Mac touch, this particular bogus mockup is as convincing as any. Why? Because the real imagination is baked somewhere inside.
The French-language Web site Nowhere Else (via Engadget) has published the following pair of “photographs” purportedly of Apple’s next generation, world-beating product to run the iPhone OS. Unfortunately, the device pictured is apparently shown running a copy of Leopard, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm for Cupertino’s freshest, though still unreleased handheld opus.
As correctly pointed out by Engadget, a Google search for the image captured on the Mac touch’s screen above — pretty much exactly — puts the lie to any notion of authenticity for these images.
Still, as fakes go, this one’s pretty good because it closely riffs on an already successful product franchise (i.e. something Apple’s known to do) and because the power of device can’t be seen — it’s that “fueled by imagination” bullshit that is the stuff of legend.
That said, if this is ultimately what the Mac touch, or whatever it ultimately gets named, looks like, then I’ll take at least one…
What’s your take?
