Apple makes good on Windows 7 Boot Camp compatibility promise

January 20, 2010

Better late than never and two weeks after their original stated deadline isn’t that bad. The mothership’s posted a trio of patches covering Windows 7 compatibility, as well as 32 and 64 bit operation on your Intel Mac.

As the New Year turned, we here at Blorge noted the passing of two important deadlines — AT&T had failed to deliver tethering for the iPhone and our favorite fruit company likewise missed its deadline to provide Windows 7 Bootcamp compatibility under Snow Leopard.

Well, at least Apple’s managed to scrape itself together and produce the required patches:

• Boot Camp Utility for Windows 7 Upgrade, 376K
• Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 32 bit, 380.73MB
• Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 64 bit, 274.58MB

Well, with that small matter cleared up, we can now focus our undivided attention (and vituperation) on AT&T for the continuing — some might say endless — failings.

Thereupon, damn them! Damn them all to…

What’s your take?
