Mac vs. PC: More than just a pretty face?
Gotta a belly full of ire, a volume of vituperation you’ve been holding back? Well, here’s a deserving target that thinks some poorly shaped Aluminum and a few icons are enough to earn him some respect.
DVice picked up on the “fact” that the all-new, be among the first to one Lian Li PC-V1200 bears a passing (like gas) resemblance to the Mac Pro. This epiphany of computer design, based as it is on an Apple design first outed way back in 2003 and still in use now (Earth to Apple, freshen up a little, would’ya?), brought these words to mind for DVice’s Michael Trey:

It’ll be even more beautiful once those bays are full.
If you’re sick of people judging you by your choice of computer, here’s a way to build a PC that might fool them…
Excuse me, but did he just say, “Wah!”?
Anyway, he goes on to list a bunch of things to gussy up a PC — there really is no difference, it’s all just airs — and make it “look” like Mac, such as an emulator (think of it as a user interface come over) and the usual bunch of eye candy (icons, desktop pics, etc).
And, hey how about that floppy drive? That’s one stylin’ tower!
Yup, take it from me, folks’ll be lining to say how much they respect your choice of Lian Li’s wonder box (don’t forget the icons)…
What’s your take?

I don’t think for a lot of us Windows users, we’re that unhappy. Sure, some got mad over Vista, others went to MAC because they saw it as a better product, and others are just not too computer savvy and wanted a product they understood better. Me? I bought a Sony notebook with Vista last year. Its a very stable and fast machine and plays Blu-Ray movies. With a coupon from Sony, I paid a little less than $1000 for it. Sure, I bought Vista when it had finally been worked out. A friend bought a MAC at the same time. She is happy with it and has been to the MAC classes. She paid two and a half times as much as I did. We both purchased extended warranties. So whatever works out best for you is what you should buy. I think MAC vs PC wars are silly. Both are good.

PC Cases can be changed. To DIY, on a Mac would void your warranty. At least the PC users have choice here?
Only thing that puts a thorn in my side here is Lian Li’s eagerness to make something look like a Mac; they can do better.
