Where to buy MacBook batteries
Whether you’re just a user who’s rung every drop of energy out of consumer portable’s six-cell pack or you’re buying n’ selling used MacBooks to supplement your income, there are plenty of places to buy quality replacement batteries.
For the last six months or so, I’ve been buying second-hand MacBooks, cleaning them up and reselling them as way to help make ends meet. Every once in awhile, I get one with a battery that won’t revive even after calibrating the battery and/or resetting the SMC chip — c’est la vie.
Thereupon, I recently found myself shopping for a battery or two. Generally, I’m looking for the Model 1185 (remove the battery and check the label for model you need), which is available as third-party and Apple-branded products.

The above are three representative vendors among the dozen or more companies that sell MacBook replacement batteries, so Google for the best prices which change regularly. Also, the battery in current generation MacBooks (Late 2009) require more than a simple, quick n’ easy swap, so check your model’s specs before you buy anything.
