Market research firm iSuppli has released their cost estimate of the new Apple iPad line, saying that the 32GB Wi-Fi plus 3G model, which retails for $729, will cost approximately $287 to build.

According to the reports of two major market analyst firms, Apple’s share of the burgeoning smartphone marketplace has reached 25 percent of the U.S. market for the first time, primarily at the expense of RIM / Blackberry and Palm.

With many iPhone app vendors complaining of 80 percent piracy rates, the notion that Apple’s iPhone and soon to arrive iPad — two products that share the same operating system and online software distribution platform — are locked and impenetrable is pretty darned silly. Then again, why should anyone expect more from a group that’s named itself “defective by design”?

Apple’s exclusion of Flash from its iPhone and, now iPad has led to firestorm of debate over the stability and security of Adobe’s multimedia authoring and display software. Many Mac users have come out against Flash, saying that the Cupertino, California-based company has been right all along to exclude it.

Apple has warned developers of apps for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch that they should not use the location based services of these devices to serve local ads to any of their mobile platforms.

On Jan. 15 of last month Mac Blorge reported that Intel had spilled the beans on the upcoming release of new MacBook Pros, something chipzilla denied. Now, fresh evidence of an Apple pro portable update has appeared and more than a few folks are hoping for this Tuesday.

Apple’s just put out a product that’s widely and, to some degree, accurately described as an oversized, iPod touch on steroids. So, an overseas company that wants to sue the mothership over the iPad’s design seems a bit absurd.
