Apple begins accepting iPad app submissions

March 19, 2010

The “App Store Gold Rush, The Sequel” begins now. Developers and Apple begin the formal ramp up to the grand opening of the iPad App Store — gentlemen, start your compilers.

Apple’s iPad Developer Center (login required) has begun accepting iPad app submissions ahead of the formal launch of the iPad App Store.

Quoting an email submitted by a reader, Cult of Mac reports that Apple is pushing developers to submit their apps by March 27 in order to take part in the iPad App Store grand opening, which we all assume will take place on April 3.

iPad will begin shipping soon and your opportunity to be part of the grand opening of the iPad App Store starts today.

Typical oblique Apple style. It’s implied that you must submit your app by March 27 to be part of the iPad App Store grand opening, but no conclusive statement thereof that could be construed as a commitment on Apple’s part.

Oh well, play by their unknowable rules or go home. Things never change…

What’s your take?
