iTunes 9.1, iPhoto 8.1.2 bring the iPad closer
There are still days to go until the iPad ships, but Apple’s way out front with the delivery of iTunes 9.1, which brings — as predicted — tablet related features and updates, including media syncing and a new way to buy books.
In the wake of yesterday’s monster Mac OS X 10.6.3 Update, the combo version of which weighs 784 freakin’ megabytes, comes iTunes 9.1 (93.6MB, Mac download), which brings the iPad a step closer to reality.
New and/or improved features in this release include:
- • Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on the go
• Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library
• Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes
Apple’s also pushed out iPhoto 8.1.2 (13.3MB), which addresses minor issues in the area of import and syncing to iPhone, iPod or Apple TV.
In related news, Apple has also released updates for QuickTime, MobileMe, iPhone and Bonjour, some of which are Windows specific.
