Apple begins MobileMe Calendar beta

July 7, 2010

Another piece of Apple’s cloud services puzzle drops into place with an updated version of their calendar app. But that’s not all as MobileMe in general has seen some pretty big changes, including a clever new services navigation bar.

Apple has announced a MobileMe Calendar beta, which requires interested users to request and invitation. Thereupon, the mothership says they’ll grant requests in the order they were received.

The company has published an FAQ on the subject, though the notable features are:

      • Beautiful, new web application
      • Sharing calendars with family and friends (must be MobileMe members in the beta)
      • Publishing calendars for groups or teams
      • Event invitations with RSVPs
      • Works with the calendar applications on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac

To use the MobileMe Calendar beta, you need to be running iOS 4 on iPhone or iPod touch, iOS 3.2 on iPad, Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.4 or later.
