The competitors will all bring out their devices, many of them technically superior with better hardware and added features (USB, HDMI etc), but what none of them get – not one – is that the hardware is less than half the story. It is the user interface and experience that sells Apple products again and again, not the hardware. The competition have never properly understood this and until they do, they will continue to follow rather than lead.

The Ipad is really a piece of crap. It can’t multi task, and no camera. That is just a bunch of fail, and it is only as portable as a laptop. I don’t see all the hype for it.

HD video, usb and hdmi ports, sd slots, camera for video conferencing, slide out keyboard, swappable battery etc….

Apple is a hardware vendor and will simply not put in features that make the device an “instead of” versus an “in addition to” gizmo. If you buy an iPad instead of an iPod Apple is happy. Instead of a MacBook not so much.

A slot to accept SIM cards or USB Dongle so you aren’t married to AT&T for 3G and the ability to replace your smartphone with a 7″ screen.

Apple had to deliberately neuter the device to keep it from cannibalizing other products. Other vendors will be competing to offer the best value without those restrictions.

The device to go “Netbook” in sales still hasn’t hit yet and Apple won’t be the source.

I wasn’t actually revering to the complaints of overheating but legibility. it’s called e-ink and has been proven numerous times to work with devices such as the kindle or sony’s ereader, all of which offer less strain on the eye than the ipad or any other glossy backlit screen display. In case of the Adam it uses the PixelQi screen which is a hybrid of the two and has also been proven to work very well in direct sunlight.

That was tried and all failed… and if you mean over heating then try any large screen device in hot sunlight for the same amount of time…

Besides that.. using a large screen device of any kind in direct sunlight is not a good thing, either for the device or the eyes, especially when the sun reflects directly back into the eyes…

Lets see if they can get more than 10 hours battery life… if they can! Great!

Well how about (and this is still speculation until the tablet actually hits the market) lower price, longer battery life, usb and hdmi ports and a screen that can actually be used in sunlight to name a few improvements over the ipad.

By the time they are in full production, whether or not the market buys them… the second generation of iPad will be on the market… and LOL when iPad has a front facing camera, they will bleat oooh but our tablet had it first… blah blah..

Not quite correct. the Samsung Galaxy S is one of the phones that beats the Iphone, The Droid X is evenly matched and the Evo4G too. As for the Ipad, there are hardly any tablets out there to compete with it, but on paper the Notion Ink Adam has the ipad beat by a long shot.

of course! in my opinion , i think ipad is invincible , whether the google ipad , the BB ipad or this Samsang , they all can’t beat ipad ~ i am using ipad and i support it . if you get a ipad , if you also a movie fans , you must download a Aneesoft ipad video covnerter like me which will give you another surprise ~
