Facebook CTO: We’ll work with Apple on Ping
Quite a bit has been made of Facebook’s refusal to allow Apple to integrate Facebook into the company’s struggling Ping social network service. Now, at least one corporate talking head is saying everything’s gonna be just fine.
BusinessInsider was in the room Wednesday, or knew someone there, at a media dinner in New York where Facebook CTO Bret Taylor said he is “very confident” his company and Apple will find a way to work out their differences over the nascent iTunes Ping social networking service.
Thereupon, Ping has fallen flat since it shipped as part of iTunes 10. It’s believed that Facebook balked, blocking the use of their public API, when always secretive Apple unveiled the social networking service at the last minute.
That said, all will likely be well as Apple and Facebook have worked together vis-a-vis iTunes for years. So, recent events are likely much ado about not much…
What’s your take?
