iPad, in stores everywhere

October 12, 2010

Well, that statement’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. In recent weeks, the Apple tablet went on sale at Target and Best Buy completed its nationwide retail roll out. Starting this Friday, the mother-of-all big box retailers will join the fray, as well.

Associated Press reports that Wal-Mart stores, bastions of civilization that they are, will begin selling all six iPad models from Friday, Oct, 15. The zeitgeist defining device, which is the fastest selling consumer electronics device in history, will be available in 2,300 of the retail giant’s 3,600 locations around the U.S.

It’s been estimated that Apple has sold 8 million iPads since the “magical and revolutionary” tablet computing device went on sale back in April. Analysts have estimated that the company could sell as many as 16-million by year’s end.

Nevertheless, the iPad has already been named fastest selling new consumer electronics product of all time.

Will you be buying an iPad at WalMart this year? They won’t be offering any discount…
