If Steve Jobs and the folks at Google can’t keep from waging wars of words, such as they are now about Android, the world may eventually be justified in saying that the two companies are at war.
Once upon a time, Slim Whitman outsold the Beatles and now the iPhone is outselling Blackerry. Think that’s a big deal? Well, the mothership’s got tons more impressive quarterly number to share with the world and you will be impressed.
All the signs are starting to point to the MacBook Air as playing a big part in the event that Apple has scheduled for Wednesday, and it may include systems in more than one size.
Here’s something you may have never thought about before, but now that it’s in there the notion might just stay and tickle for awhile — what is dinner like at the Jobs home? What would you see when you come through the door?
There’s not a lot of new stuff here — we’ve seen and heard Wozniak, Kahney, Kawasaki, Sculley and others say most if not all of these things before. But, if you’re a true fan, you likely won’t be bored watching and listening to them again.
With Apple’s announcement of a Back to the Mac event for next week come ruminations about where the Mac has been over the past year of rampant iPhone and iPad obsession by Apple.
It may not be exactly the Apple product that we wanted at Verizon, but the two companies announced this morning that the iPad will be available from Verizon stores beginning on Oct. 28.
Back in 2007 when Acer purchased Gateway, the combined companies’ unit volume pushed Apple from the number three spot in the US. Now, although it took a couple years, the mothership’s returned the favor, but without the aid of an acquisition or other artificial stimulants, and they did it without reckoning iPad sales.
Finally, an Apple media event that isn’t about the iPhone, iPad or even iPod — we hope. As you can see from the graphic, the mothership has settled on “Lion” for the next iteration of Mac OS X, though it wouldn’t surprise if the name was actually a riff on the word, like “pride.”
It would appear that all things auger well for Apple, including the launch of Windows Phone 7, which seemed to help Apple stock rise. How high is this Apple rocket going to get over the next year?
