Zune syncing coming to the Mac

October 13, 2010

The closest thing to Microsoft software on my Mac is Flip4Mac, a set of third-party codecs that allows .wmv, etc. video to play on Apple computers. But, there are plenty of folks for whom Office, Outlook and a Windows smartphone are just parts of life.

iPad, in stores everywhere

October 12, 2010

Well, that statement’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. In recent weeks, the Apple tablet went on sale at Target and Best Buy completed its nationwide retail roll out. Starting this Friday, the mother-of-all big box retailers will join the fray, as well.

October 12, 2010

Apple builds its business cred

October 11, 2010

It seems that Apple’s credibility amongst the business beasts is growing by leaps and bounds, not something that we are used to seeing. What is happening here and can we expect it to continue?

Should Apple buy Adobe?

October 8, 2010

At first blush, and given the recent enmity between Steve Jobs and certain people at Adobe, it seems ludicrous to suggest that Apple buy Adobe. But there are some pretty good points in favor of such a deal.

iTunes Server Edition is overdue

October 7, 2010

Gigabytes and gigabytes of stuff — movies, music, TV shows, photos, apps, audiobooks and ebooks. Although it’s possible to share our “stuff” to varying degrees via iTunes, it’s extremely time consuming and anything but seamless. So, Apple it’s time to step up.

October 7, 2010

When the Wall Street Journal starts bleating big time about the iPhone showing up at Verizon just after the first of the year, you have to think that there may be something to it. Well, is there?

MacBook Air shortage [perhaps] heralds refresh

October 6, 2010

Yes, Apple’s almost ultraportable portable is badly in need of a makeover and not just a little Botox. Further, if past is prologue, then it’s likely that iMac, MacBook and/or MacBook Pro refreshes are in the cards, as well. And, don’t forget those persistent iLife ’11 release rumors.
