When the number was first bandied about in the press, it seemed like it had to be overblown, but a little thought showed that perhaps Apple has indeed sold as many as 8 million iPads in six or so months.

Target stores now have the iPad on their shelves in plenty of times for the holidays. Next, the fast-selling iPad is due to show up at some Walmart stores in addition to Apple Stores and Best Buy.

iLife ’11 coming in November, says rumor

We’ve seen enough of these to know better, so don’t get too excited one way or the other about this. That is, here’s another rumor based on a online bookseller placeholder page for an iLife ’11 book and it purportedly will ship next month.

Alas all good things come to an end, or at least get sold off to the highest bidder. That assessment might seem cold, but it leaves open the possibility that one of the finer private collections of Apple products, marketing materials and just plain kitsch will be kept whole and displayed to the public again.

There are two TVs in our house and generally the only time I ever touch the remote is to turn one of them and send the kids to bed. I did, however, watch Steve Wozniak, a.k.a. Woz, when he appeared on Dancing with the Stars, an experience that chastened my resolve not to watch, the Steelers aside, any more TV on a TV.

Apple rumor says the touchscreen iMac is still alive

In the rumors that will not go away department, there are still rumblings across the interwebs that Apple is going to build a touchscreen iMac computer system, with a possible release in 2010.
