NSFW: Welcome to the CrApple Store! [u]

November 29, 2010

A blog for disgruntled Apple Store retail workers, which appeared online back in August, is only just now gaining attention. And, now that it’s popped on the world’s and one assumes Apple’s radar, the purported employee will be sniffed out and the site snuffed.

CrApple Store has a simple mission and that’s to provide a forum of sorts, with the blameless remaining nameless.

It began with a list of reasons why working for Apple Retail is f*****g s**t, and just spiraled out of control. I couldn’t keep it inside anymore, and so have decided to share the hate with the rest of the world.

I’ve decided to give you, the lovely readers, something to read at the weekend: and that’s some reader emails! There’s something about feeling other people’s pain that makes us feel slightly better about ourselves, so hopefully every weekend we can all sigh together and let today be the first.

This one is courtesy of a chap called Robert, who’s best sentence was probably:

    • “I have never felt so undervalued as an employee or so constantly undermined by useless management as I did at Apple.”

Thanks Robert!

[u] 9 to 5 Mac reports that the CrApple Store blog has already shutdown — that didn’t take long. [u]

The site contains, assuming it’s not all just a scam, insider information and references that Apple shouldn’t have too much trouble piecing together into the identity of the author. Thereupon, it’s perhaps reasonable to assume that the self-described Apple Store employee behind this blog is already an ex-employee…

What’s your take?

    Welcome to the CrApple Store

Wow, that was totally unexpected. As most readers will be aware, the site did the rounds on all the Mac blogs etc at the weekend, with the result being a large increase in traffic. The thing about this blog is that it was never really meant to be read by the whole world, it was a place for fed up employees to read the sufferings of another fed up employee, and laugh about all the little things that begin to tick you off whilst working at Apple.

The blog was never designed to offend anyone, but as everyone is different, and given the language used it was bound to happen. No one likes a big fuss or legal battle, so I’ve decided, unfortunately, to stop blogging before it gets out of hand. The blog was designed to have two consequences:
