Mac App Store to open December 13
Apple numero uno Steve Jobs has been pushing hard for the early launch of the groundbreaking online retail software outlet. Though developers had been told to ready their apps for today, the company is apparently now targeting next Monday in the hope of launching ahead of the holidays.
AppleTell has heard whispers from an inside source that Apple plans or at least hopes to open the Mac App store for business on Monday, Dec. 13.
The company apparently told developers to have their software prepared for a launch as early as Monday the 6th of this month, but our contact would be shocked if that happened at this point. Apple has made no official announcements regarding this, and delays could always happen, but there’s a push to be launched before Christmas, well ahead of the previously estimated January release.”
Further, as alluded to in the lead, the push to launch the Mac App Store well ahead of Apple’s 90-day deadline, which comes in mid-January, has been lead by CEO Steve Jobs.
As everyone in my family, at least in this country, uses Macs, the combination of iTunes and the Mac App Store will allow me to single source all of the gifts I give. Here’s hoping Apple can deliver before the holiday…
