The logic is a little roundabout, but an excellent case can be made for OS X following iOS4 into the app store model as a good thing for Mac developers, and thus for OS X users as well.

The growth in legal online music has never kept up with the decline in CD sales, let alone replaced any meaningful portion of that lost revenue. Now, hope that it could is fading as once robust sales growth has shriveled to the point of near irrelevance.

Will Sandy Bridge be a bridge too far? Having owned a trio of Intel graphics “powered” Macs over the years, it’s hard to take chipzilla’s performance claims at face value and thereupon see such a move by Apple as anything more than a political necessity for them.

The shiny new Mac Store will be opening soon, according to all accounts, but when it opens it will be missing some features that users have been accustomed to on the iOS4 App Store for the iPhone and iPad.

The fabled 90-second previews of songs on iTunes are finally ready to roll out, at least on some songs, although shorter songs don’t qualify for longer previews. Why? Once again, please feel free to blame the music biz.

Over the last 10 years, Apple has released iTunes, the iPod, iPhone and iPad, all of which are market dominant products. Likewise, the introduction of Mac OS X helped spur a major Mac renaissance with market share more than trebling overall and rising to more than 20 percent in the consumer space.

Get broadband internet and television in one highly convenient and affordable package (and, the internet collectively issued a great big “meh”)! Perhaps a large part of the sense of being underwhelmed is the spotty at best availability of FiOS around the nation.

According what should be very reliable sources indeed, the next version of the Apple tablet computer, the iPad 2, might be ready to ship as soon as February 2011, a couple of months earlier than originally thought.
