iMovie 9.0.1, GarageBand 6.0.1 updates arrive
It’s been a peaceful two weeks since Apple last foisted software updates upon us. Well, wipe the sleep from your eyes and pour yourself a fresh, ’cause it’s time to get back to work. Nothing too exciting here, but there are fixes and feature tweaks o’ plenty — come on inside for the skinny.
Apple has shipped iMovie 9.0.1 (27.52MB), which improves stability and fixes other minor issues, including:
- • Fixes an issue where stabilization would not be applied correctly to some video clips from iPhone and iPod touch.
• Fixes an issue that prevented use of some valid Facebook passwords that contained non-alphanumeric characters.
• Improves compatibility with some cameras that create content in multiple formats.
• Improves performance when scrolling the Project Library.
Don’t relax your mouse clickin’ finger just yet as there’s a second iLife item in your Software Update queue. GarageBand 6.0.1 (47.5MB) is also a maintenance release — the first for this app since Apple shipped iLife 11 back in October — which improves overall stability, and addresses compatibility and a number of other minor issues.
- • Fixes an issue related to undoing Flex Time edits
• Removes occasional latency that can occur on guitar tracks
• Restores ability to use the Quantize Note Timing menu for tracks with Groove Matching
• This update is recommended for all GarageBand ’11 users.
With the Mac App Store opening for business on Thursday, January 6, I imagine we’ll be seeing more updates.
Are you looking forward to Apple’s latest revolution with trepidation or anticipation?
