It’s been a peaceful two weeks since Apple last foisted software updates upon us. Well, wipe the sleep from your eyes and pour yourself a fresh, ’cause it’s time to get back to work. Nothing too exciting here, but there are fixes and feature tweaks o’ plenty — come on inside for the skinny.

It looks as if Apple’s sales over the holidays, including iPhone, iPad and Mac computer sales, were wild indeed, leading analysts to believe that Apple will report another record quarter this month.

Ubiquity and compelling features is the way you rule world. Well, unless your top competitor happens to be Netflix and those guys rule. For Apple, the long slog continues as their partners, i.e. the movie industry, continue the glacial iTunes Extras buildout.

Column after tech column tells us that Android is catching up fast, to both the iPhone and RIM’s Blackberry. The problem is, that’s simply not true. When will they stop mixing handsets and operating systems?

It’s the Monday after a long holiday break and, well, there just isn’t that much out there for the haters to hate over at least until Apple announces the Verizon iPhone or its Q4 quarter results. Nevertheless, this is one twisted tale and probably worth at least a small chortle.
