Competitors can’t sell what they don’t have

February 17, 2011

In 2005, Apple made the bold move of buying up the available Flash supply while rolling out a pair of price compelling Flash-based media players, the iPod nano and iPod shuffle. We don’t know what the iPad 2 looks like yet, or whether Apple will introduce other tablets this year, but the panel supply’s pretty much locked down.

Imagining the iX notebook

February 14, 2011

There are folks who say that iOS will eventually subsume Mac OS X, that desktop computers are just 20th century. Still, the truck crowd is unswayed noting that you can’t program for the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad without a Mac. Well, there could be a third way forward.

MBA to get Sandy Bridged

February 12, 2011

June looks to be a very, very busy month for the mothership. February 4, 2011

In general, if you want to find out how well something works, just follow the money. Who has to discount and which ones are getting a premium for their stuff? If a new mobile advertising study is to be believed, then Apple’s got a sleeper hit on its hands that advertisers are just waking up to.

February 3, 2011

Today is the existing subscribers can start ordering the Verizon iPhone and mine will be arriving one week from today. That said, there are always a few people who have the pull to get theirs early, including Daring Fireball’s John Gruber who’s already posted a review.
