When COO Tim Cook said he is confident that the company can meet demand going forward, this is undoubtedly a large part of that confidence. Thereupon, Apple spent nearly 60 percent more in fiscal Q2 than it did in it holiday fiscal Q2 — Japan quake-related parts issues aren’t going to be an issue and here’s the reason.

Sandy Bridge, Thunderbolt and maybe even Retina display? The speculation continues to mount with fresh rumors that an updated Apple all-in-one is just days away. Whatever the case, it’s about time for a new iMac on my desk, so I’m keenly watching these developments.

It’s looking increasingly doubtful that any of Apple’s tablet competitors will field even one realistic challenger. As exemplified by the RIM Playbook, which launched late with no email client, the factors fueling the shutout aren’t hard to discern.

Apple’s North Carolina data center isn’t online, but it’s already the world’s dirtiest. Like all previous Greenpeace media grabs, this latest report is based on estimates, which is a polite way of saying that they’re guessing. That said, who could’ve guessed that they would name the company most likely to attract headlines as the biggest polluter?

Apple’s iPad claimed 85 percent of the tablet market last year and the company just announced sales of 4.69 million iPads in the first calendar quarter. With that background comes the news that the mothership is catching up with demand even as it expects to roll zeitgeist-defining device in 13 additional countries.

The Apple iPad is killing American jobs! Well, in this instance, the accusation isn’t specifically about the device being manufactured overseas. The accusing U.S. Congressman is complaining because the iPad and other media tablets are killing the book selling business, really.

Adobe has finally caved in to reality and its video server will pipe video directly to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, as well as Flashless Macs. Perhaps this is the happy ending — sorry, massage is on the first floor — the rest of us have been hoping for.
