A real Mac Mecca? Wellesley, Massachusetts

June 28, 2011

The hyper liberal Bay State might not be your cup of tea, but it’s hard to imagine you won’t find a few friends given how numerous Mac users are there. It’s a similar demographic picture in other liberal redoubts around the country, though there are plenty Red State refuges for the more conservative Mac head, as well.

When it comes to Mac users, the more of us you can find in one place, the better. That said, there’s no place in American where this fertile technological loam is deeper than Wellesley, MA where up to 36 percent of those well-heeled residents own an Apple-branded computer.

And, yes, the most Mac friendly American cities are generally of the more liberal variety. However, you can have a strong preference for computers, tablets and smartphone that don’t suck and live among the Tea Party tribe, too.

Yup, Utah, Minnesota and Maine are all heartland havens with more than a few Mac loving residents.

Or, you could be like me — a gun owning, meat eater that despises the NRA and Tea Party who wants to end-of-life public sector unions while forcing one down the throat of Wal-Mart? Yeah, real Mac people live outside the stereotypes — it’s a pity our politicians don’t…

What’s your take?
