Apple planets to align July 19
I’ve got $30 set aside, mostly quarters and Sacajawea dollars, in a bulging envelope and now there’s a date written in pencil on it. Moreover, assuming I had a mayonnaise jar (or three) full o’ buck coins, the same day next month is expected to bring an updated Apple ultraportable, too.
Apple ‘n’ Apps — what an awful name (says the blorge guy) — has heard from “sources that corroborate each other” that Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and updated (Sandy Bridge) MacBook Airs will arrive arm-in-arm on July 19.
The sources are independent, but both are connected to Apple in different capacities, and would like to remain anonymous, as you would imagine. We have relied on them in the past, and they claim a specific date for the launch of Lion, and it will be accompanied by a refresh of the MacBook Air line of notebooks.
Are you ready for Lion (Core 2 Duo or better running OS X 10.6.8)? Yeah, there’s not a exactly a butt ton o’ things to be excited about there, though the Sandy Bridge MacBook Air is looking wicked cool…
What’s your take?
