It’s lucky seven for Apple TV in Europe
Ubiquity. It’s impossible to be everything to everyone — the haters gotta hate — but being everywhere at least offers . That said, Steve Jobs’ hobby is expanding its footprint by 50 percent when the Apple TV launches in seven Northern European countries next week.
Apple Authorized Resellers in Europe have received notification from the mothership that they can begin selling the Apple TV in their markets. MacRumors reports that consumers in seven Northern European countries will soon be able to buy the Apple set top box.
All-new Apple TV Now Available for Order in Seven New Countries
We are delighted to announce the all-new Apple TV, with an enhanced user interface and a breakthrough price point, is now available to order in Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
In Finland, the device will be tagged at €119 VAT inclusive and Norwegians will pay kr 849. Apple TV owners in the 21 countries where it’s available can rent movies, but only those in the US can also rent TV shows.
Given that Denmark’s population is less than one-third that of metropolitan New York, you’ve got to wonder about the economics of the Apple TV in these tiny and linguistically distinct European markets…
