Mac rocks Apple’s Q4 [u]

Upon hearing that Apple posted a net profit of $6.62 billion on revenues of $28.27 billion, or $7.05 per share, “investors” prompted sent AAPL lower — go figure. The company beat its own guidance, but fell short of analyst expectations. What’s up with that? Consumers held off buying ahead of the iPhone 4S and that led to the “disappointing” results.

Suppliers split on low-cost iPad

The Beard, a.k.a. Jim Dalrymple, has already told us that Apple developed a 7-inch alongside the Apple’s “magical and revolutionary” 9.7-inch iPad. Given Dalrymple’s long and highly accurate rumorological record, I tend to believe him. So, whether or not we’ll eventually see one likely depends on how successful the Kindle Fire turns out to be.

When you’re Steve Jobs, you get a seat right next to President Obama at dinner, just cuz. When you’re the president, you probably shouldn’t be surprised when Jobs gives you an iPad. But this kind of coziness among the well connected isn’t particularly surprising, especially given the shared admiration the two men have.
