In the market for a new MacBook Air? Then make sure to hit up your local Best Buy.
The electronics retailer is holding its Winter Doorbuster Days Sale and knocking off $200 on all configurations of Apple’s MacBook Air, including 11-inch and 13-inch models. An entry-level 11-inch model, with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of solid state hard drive space will only $800, while a 13-inch version with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of hard drive space costs $1,000.
Not a bad deal, but it only lasts through Saturday.
As stated, all configurations can take advantage of the discount, with the most expensive being a 13-inch model with 256 GB of hard drive space for $1,300.
Additionally, Best Buy has discounted all OtterBox cases 30 percent and is giving a free $20 gift card if you purchase a 16 GB iPod nano.
This past week, Apple announced its Mac sales dropped significantly, but blamed it on low supplies, which impacted the newly designed iMac, which released before the new year. Seeing that Best Buy is discounting its MacBook Airs fairly substantially, it begs the question if PC purchasing in general is hurting Mac sales.
Apple CEO Tim Cook admitted that iPad sales have eaten into Mac sales, but now, maybe Apple has to find a new way to market its PCs in a post-PC world.
