Mac OSX Leopard and previous versions are pretty good about cleaning up after themselves but occasionally may take longer to start up or shut down or a bit of both. I recently experienced this on a two week old MacBook Pro running Leopard.

There’s a lot of news these days regarding Mac "clones" made by the Psystar corporation. This company does not appear to be real in the physical sense. Add to that, earlier the online store was not accepting orders because it could not process credits cards.

Older Mac Pro owners will not (finally) be left out in the cold after all. When Apple decided to release a GeForce 8800GT upgrade kit for the Mac Pro, it was soon discovered that this kit did not work on the older Mac Pros. This has now be rectified and a kit is now available for owners of the “older” Mac Pro.

There’s a lot of news floating around right now about Psystar corporation and it’s army of "clone" Macs. Psystar has stopped calling their line of computers "OpenMacs" and is now calling them "Open Computers" but are still willing to install a number of operating systems including OSX Leopard.

If you want an Apple desktop you have two choices, the rather limited Mac Mini or the overpriced Mac Pro but here’s another option. Psystar is offering what it calls an "OpenMac" which is made of standard PC parts and is selling it on its site for only $399.99.

After some videos of Quake 3 running on a couple of iPod Touch units surfaced earlier this week some began wondering when or if the game would be making its way for either official or unofficial download. It won’t, not soon and probably not ever.

Apple’s laptop line has been due for a design change for quite some time; not counting the MacBook Air which is an entirely new product. The MacBook and MacBook Pro are due for moderate, if not groundbreaking changes.

A MacBook Pro is a larger out of pocket expense than say, an average Dell laptop but I say you get more bang for your buck in a MacBook Pro than you would in your average $1,300 Dell laptop.
