If you are one of the 20,000 people who have already pirated Apple’s iWork 09 at the time this article was written, technological karma may have arrived on your doorstep. It seems that a good number of the pirated iWork 09 installations have installed a nasty Trojan onto the computers of the software thieves.

So Steve Jobs finally allowed himself to be seen as human. He took a leave of absence from Apple to address his health today. Frankly, this has been a long time coming. I am in awe that he postponed the inevitable for such a long time. He must have been busy training one heck of a replacement and back up team. I can’t wait to see how they do.

As many Mac loyalists are happy to point out, 2008 has been one of the best years ever for Macintosh sales, and much of it is due to the Mac OS X Leopard operating system. Leopard has taken the market share from near 7 percent in 2007 to nearly 10 percent of the market share (9.63 percent) by the time December 2008 rolled around. Part of those sales have been due to the Mac OS itself and part have been consumer reaction to Vista. That’s huge growth for this segment of the computer industry in just one year. Apple files many patents that either make no sense to the average user or that end up going nowhere. Recently, they filed a patent for, of all things, a clothing item, that I hope goes all the way to production. It will help the iPhone 3G and iPod or iPod Touch users in the colder climates immensely.

Working with electronics and doing your own repairs can be intimidating. You don’t want to break anything, especially if you are still under your Apple Care warranty for any part of the machine – some scratches and other issues can void the warranty. Even so, some parts eventually fall out of warranty, and you find it may be cheaper to replace them yourself. One of the most frequent of these is the keyboard (or even the individual keys on occasion).

Hi, I’m Leslie, and I’m a Twitter-holic. I admit I have a problem. I was tweeting from my phone all during a two week power outage where I live. I tweet while in the car if I’m not driving. I tweet on trains, planes, buses, from my MacBook, in waiting rooms, pretty much anywhere my phone or laptop can get a signal. Oh it isn’t all play, I also work via Twitter much of the time. Toss in the fact that I’m a total Apple junkie, and the news I could control my Mac with Twitter sent me into spasms of glee.
