If you were about to rush off into iTunes to download that controversial WikiLeaks app from the App Store, fahgitaboutit! Apple has eradicated that particular $1.99 app from their online store.

It is fairly clear that none of the tablets that would like to compete with Apple’s iPad are really doing anything like that yet, and there is some expert opinion that the situation will not markedly change in 2011.

It is sometimes difficult to tell exactly what the meanings are behind search trends, i.e., how many people are searching for what terms, but it is easy to figure out that “Apple” is a more popular search than “Android.”

The logic is a little roundabout, but an excellent case can be made for OS X following iOS4 into the app store model as a good thing for Mac developers, and thus for OS X users as well.

The shiny new Mac Store will be opening soon, according to all accounts, but when it opens it will be missing some features that users have been accustomed to on the iOS4 App Store for the iPhone and iPad.
