Apple’s soon to be launched iPhone will not be attractive to business users without Office documents support, and will be irrelevant to enterprise users if third party applications can’t be developed for it, according to Microsoft.

Apple has filed a patent that may point the way towards smaller iPhones and touch-sensitive iPods, according to a filing published today. Titled “Back-Side Interface for Hand-Held Devices,” the patent described the top side would display the output on a smaller screen and the bottom side would receive user input via a large touch and force sensitive interface.

Apple’s iPhone, which is due out next month, will face strong competition from Motorola as its set to unveil next week a mobile phone with “unbelievable video capabilities”.

The number of people surfing the Web using a Mac has doubled in the past eight months to 6%, but this number is still not enough to attract hackers’ attention. It makes me wonder whether the commonly-held “Mac is more secure than Windows” belief is true?

Apple has unleashed three new ‘Get A Mac’ ads in the US. The ads feature Justin Long and John Hodgman in their familiar roles as Mac and PC. Two of the ads, Choose a Vista and Party is Over, go straight against Windows Vista.
