Look here, folks: Apple has no intentions of going all “Linux” and everything anytime soon; though many people have expressed interest in developing third party programs for the iPhone, was Steve’s assurance that Apple would be willing to work with them just campaign rhetoric? I think the day Apple opens up completely to third party support for the iPhone is the same day we wave buh-bye to the all-star security and reliability that will sell the iPhone in the first place.

As the iPhone could be the hottest cell phone release of all time, the latest batch of information coming from today’s interview with Steve Jobs might be the most revealing tidbits yet, and it is our solumn duty to report and hypothesize fittingly. In this next segment, I’ll discuss Steve’s disclosures on the iPhone’s keyboard, battery life, 3rd party support, video, and more!

Second only to talks of Leopard and the iPhone are musings regarding the next big step for the iPod; admittedly, with the most anticipated operating system and cell phone launches coming hand in hand from Apple in the very near future, it would seem that Apple could not possibly be capable of managing a powerful trifecta of technology, including an iPod update. However, there are 3 reasons a forthcoming iPod release would make more sense than buttering bread, and I will expound upon them below.

So we’re all familiar with the concept of denial to appease one’s own false self-impressions, but Microsoft’s opinion of Apple’s media player competition is downright laughable; though Zune has reached the 1 million mark in sales, Microsoft’s head of entertainment has proclaimed competition with Apple in the media player realm is “fun”!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone (besides myself, who is without the necessary resources) to bring a lawsuit against Apple for their shoddy MacBook displays. Finally, some owners based in San Diego are bringing a class-action lawsuit against the technology giant for deceptive advertising in regards to the MacBook display capabilities.

Finally, we can put all those Windows-worshippers’ comments aside about how Mac security is more flawed than Wolfowitz’s logic (too soon?): for the last time, to all you people who claim Mac security is bad, direct your focus at 3rd party villains! Villains might be too strong of a term; regardless, a recent flaw in Adobe’s new CS3 turns off Mac firewalls without notifying the user…villainous? Perhaps.

There’s been enough hype surrounding Apple’s release to sedate a small sperm whale, we have to admit. It seems fairly clear that Apple will have one of the hottest products of all time on the market come June… the last question remaining is this: is the Apple iPhone strong enough to push AT&T to the top, or will US consumers demand compatibility with other networks?
