Apple has at long last settled a lawsuit with clonemaker Psystar, which has agreed not to install OS X on the systems they sell, but that may not stop the Florida company selling Apple clones.

Both the hackintosh maker and Apple had requested summary judgements from the bench, a risky move that could have delivered a stinging rebuke and lopsided defeat to either side. Nevertheless, it was the Cupertino, California-based Mac, iPod and iPhone that prevailed with the judge coming down against the illegal cloner on nearly every charge — a likely death blow.

By now you’ve likely heard the news that Russian hacker collectives are paying a 43-cent bounty for each comprised Mac. Scary, huh? Well, actual incidences of this behavior observed in the wild are quite rare with the scammers paying more for hacked PCs.

The Miami, Florida-based maker of Hackintosh computers — whitebox PCs running a hacked version of Apple’s operating system — has changed law firms, been fined for destroying evidence and even made a trip through bankruptcy court, but they have yet to run low on chutzpah.
