Airport Express refresh iCloud launch

September 13, 2011

New kit coming and who doesn’t like fresh gear? Recently, the mothership rolled updated Airport Extreme Base Station and Time Capsule hub, bringing full 450Mbps throughput — soon coming to Airport Express, too, before Apple’s much anticipated iCloud reveal.

Salesforce CEO gave Jobs ‘App Store’ trademark

August 27, 2011

Apple has been on the receiving of geek grief and angst for suing competitors over use of its App Store trademark. Whereas the technorati argue the term should be viewed as generic and ubiquitous, they miss the obvious point that it was Apple who made it that way. And, yeah, they own it, too.

Find My Mac available in iCloud beta

August 4, 2011

The “Back to Mac” sub current, computers really don’t rate a “theme” from Apple these days, trickles on with the introduction of a highly desirable service that’s been available to iPhone users for over two years. However, for the rest of us, at least those that aren’t paid-in-full devs, we’ll just have to hope no one nicks our MacBooks for a few more weeks.

iTunes Replay: Relearning past lessons

Music, movies and TV, oh my! Until today, we’ve only heard about Apple’s deals with three of the four major music labels, but now there are whispers that feature films and television shows will be in the mix, too. Are you ready for Cupertino’s major cloud reboot?

iOS users chew through 80% of mobile video

May 24, 2011

Better is as better does. Everybody knows that Android phones outnumber iPhones, way more handsets. However, if you’re a digital media producer or any advertiser, there’s a another number you might want to consider.

EnsenaSoft: Mac App store downloads fly by 1 million

May 21, 2011

There’s a lot of positive buzz coming out of Apple’s latest little revolution, though the company itself has been characteristically quiet. Nevertheless, one top developer isn’t being shy about the success its having on the mothership’s groundbreaking desktop software marketplace.
